Help build a Mother and Puppy Unit within a new dog hospital in Thailand to care for stray puppies and their mothers.
Hundreds of stray puppies, some too young to open their eyes, are brought to Soi Dog Foundation's shelter in Thailand. The shelter lacks a designated area for young puppies and mothers nursing puppies. As of now they are typically put in a puppy run which houses dozens of rambunctious older pups; this exposes the small pups to disease and is stressful to their mothers.
Soi Dog is about to start construction of an urgently needed new hospital for stray dogs. It will have a Mother and Puppy Unit containing 11 kennels designed specifically for orphaned pups and nursing mothers with puppies. These animals will receive the special loving care they need including frequent feedings. Because puppies are very prone to disease, this unit will be separated from the rest of the hospital to prevent people walking through it en route to other rooms. It will be a safe, quiet place that reduces stress on mothers and protects young puppies from larger dogs.
You can help. Just $10 provides food to a puppy for one month who is living in the Mother and Puppy Unit.
The mission of Soi Dog Foundation is to improve the welfare of dogs and cats in Thailand, resulting in better lives for both the animal and human communities, to end animal cruelty, and to ultimately create a society without homeless animals.
