An estimated 250,000 cats and kittens live on the streets of Philadelphia.
These "community cats" are often fed and cared for by members of the community, but the cost of spaying/neutering and vaccinating community cats are often out of reach for these kind caregivers.
GreaterGood.org partners with Emancipet's Northeast Philly clinic to help these community cats in Philadelphia. Now Emancipet is asking for YOUR support to continue to provide free spay/neuter and rabies vaccines to the Philly community cat population. Emancipet will work with caregivers in the community to humanely trap, sterilize, and vaccinate homeless cats. The cats will be ear-tipped for future identification as a sterilized cat and will be returned to their communities. Offering these services at no cost ensures more cats are served, which in turn prevents unnecessary suffering and additional litters...
You can help. Your donation will support the sterilization and vaccination community cats in Philadelphia and help stop overpopulation.
Emancipet's immediate goal is to secure funding for sterilization and vaccination of 500 community cats. Our long term goals are to offer free service for community cats in perpetuity.
